Copyediting is recommended for the first and second drafts of the manuscript and takes place before the final proofreading stage.
Proofreading

Unlike copyediting, which involves more comprehensive revisions and improvements to the content, proofreading focuses primarily on ensuring that the text is free of errors and conforms to established language conventions. Proofreading is recommended for final drafts of manuscripts almost ready for publication.
Developmental Editing
A developmental edit of your manuscript will provide detailed feedback on the comprehension and architecture of the overall content. It is not specifically a review on grammar, syntax and typographical errors. However, a developmental edit will also spot these issues and advise the author accordingly about the standard of the document and what is required. This type of editing works closely with the author to provide feedback on the structure, coherence, and impact of material, aiming to identify strengths and weaknesses and to make suggestions for global improvements in the manuscript. It is recommended at an early stage of manuscript development and before the manuscript has been copyedited or proofread.
